I&#039;m also interested in behavioral-based robotics, using Lego Mindstorms (among others) to try experiments. So far I have built a simple robot, more like a Humvee really, that roams around and avoids objects. What&#039;s neat is that it can carry a small laptop (I have a Fujitsu Lifebook P1610) and a webcam, with the eventual goal of adding robot vision using OpenCV. Your articles have inspired me to blog about it.

I&#039;ve started using subversion (SVN) for all my drivers now, it&#039;s a nice way to keep track of all the changes.  TortoiseSVN integrates nicely with the file explorer, so it&#039;s very easy to use.</description>

		<description>I think a changelog would go a long way to helping people figure out how and what they need to update in their code to make use of the new code.  Put all the changes in a single file in the root of the zip file.  I think keeping the whole thing together is the best way to go for now.</description>

I need a way to turn off the object avoidance when a red can has been detected by the camera, because the same sensor is also used for determining how far the bot still needs to go before it can close its claw on the can. 		<description>I am going to write a follow-up article on Subsumption this week.  My code was written to implement a subset of Brooks Subsumption theory called fixed-priority arbitration.  This is a more simple implementation that uses one arbitrator and implements brooks subsumption, but not inhibition.  What people have found, is that in many cases, the full subsumption architecture is overly complicated and rarely exploited to its full potential.  All but the most complex robots can be built with fixed-priority arbitration where higher order behaviors subsume lower behaviors.
